It may rain in May

An old song in technicolour vain that never got music.

Days can be painful,
When all of the same bull
slaps you square in the cheek,
all the couples, they're dancing,
crying, romancing,
You'd sure be forgiven for feelin so weak,
Waiting for love every week,

Nights can be lonely,
When booze is the only
Woman who's giving the eye,
You'd be wise to start thinking
That all of the drinking,
Might lead to a road where no cars pass you by,
and waters the tears in your eye,

It may rain in May,
All day, every day,
You'd be a fool to take it as a sign,
Just stay dry, Keep your collar up,
Look to the day,
Where your one true love comes
To take you away.

Dreams are the worst,
When love's hungry thirst
Climbs in beside you to sleep,
And you dream of the morning,
love comes without warning
And places a heart at your cold, heavy feet,
for forever to keep,

It may rain in May,
All day, every day,
You'd be a fool to take it as a sign,
Just stay dry, Keep your collar up,
Look to the day,
Where your one true love comes
To take you away.
